Distance Learning & Uncertain Summer Plans

We never thought that the kids would end up distance learning for the rest of the school year. A month maybe but not for the remaining four months. Yet here we are in June and still sitting in front of computers for 4-6 hours a day. Ember usually finishes in 3 hours and since French is rarely spoken at home, we let her watch French cartoons to make up for that. Fortunately, Mason and Cadyn only have a couple of weeks left of school while Ember won't finish until the end of the month. They've done surprisingly well with distance learning, but I do know how much they miss the face-to-face interaction with teachers and seeing their friends. Hopefully, things will get under control during the summer break so that schools can reopen. I think we're all yearning to get back some sense of normalcy!

As of now Iceland is still allowing international tourists to enter as long as you get tested upon arrival. We're crossing our fingers and toes that this does not change, at least until after we arrive! The Blanchard family is ready for a vacation!
