Waiting to get an ultrasound

This was Mason's reaction when the doctor told him he would be put to sleep for his appendectomy. Even after I assured him the doctor was not going to kill him, Mason was obviously very nervous and scared about having surgery for the first time. On the other hand, I was terrified about my child having surgery in a developing country where medical facilities and care are substandard to those found in many Western countries. But overall, we were pleased with the care that Mason received and we are so relieved that he recovering well.

This one thinks she getting an ultrasound too.

Robbie left for Dubai the morning this all
happened so Ember had to come with me.
Thankfully, Cadyn was able to stay with a
friend.

The nurse didn't want to wake them up, so he
wheeled them to the room like this.

We were told this was the best room with a Nile view.

We survived our first night in the hospital.

After the surgery.......in pain, tired, and
THIRSTY!

The best hospital food we've ever had!
