The Dolomites has been on our list of places to visit before we die for almost 20 years. I remember reading an article about it in Outside magazine and was immediately drawn to the stunning beauty of the mountains.
The last time we did a hut-to-hut circuit which was in 2016, Ember was light enough to be carried in a backpack. We knew she was too heavy for that now, so we created an itinerary with shorter distances and less elevation gain allowing us to still go hut-to-hut. Ember handled the trek just fine. We hiked between 5-6 hours each day for 10 days. She walked the entire way and never complained once. It's such a relief that we have 3 kids who enjoy being outdoors as much as we do because it's something Robbie and I like to incorporate into our family vacations wherever we go.
Being in Italy we had to check out some of the other cities. There are so many interesting places to choose from but we decided on this: Rome, Orvieto, Siena, Ortisei, Dolomites, Moena, Sirmione, and Milan. Here are some of the highlights from our vacation..............
