The Chellah
This is one of the reasons why I love our neighborhood. I get to drive by a piece of ancient history every day. It was once home to the Phoenicians, who were the first to settle here, before the Romans took control. Years later after it was abandoned, the sultan Abou al-Hassan Ali decided to build towers and defensive walls which is what you see today. He is actually buried on the grounds along with his wife.
It's a very peaceful escape all within walking distance of our home. Mason is very much into history, so naturally he enjoyed strolling through the ruins.
