Father's Day, Dhaka Style

For Father's Day this year, a group of us ladies decided to show our appreciation for our loving fathers and wonderful husbands by organizing an Amazing Race type event for them.  The men were broken up into two teams and had to complete a number of missions such as driving a rickshaw, playing a cricket game, and going on a scavenger hunt at the DIT2 market.  This was all kept a secret from them until the morning of the Father's Day brunch held at our house.  Oh if only I could have captured the looks of confusion and fear on their faces when they found out what all the secret meetings among the wives were about.  Needless to say, the men had a lot of fun and were appropriately awarded with a massage at the finish line.  Here are some of the highlights of the Dhaka Daddy Day:

The unsuspecting fathers.....
Piggy back race
Gotta give the other kids a ride too!
Water balloon toss
Time to get Dad wet!
A friendly game of Horse
All the Dads had to wear lunghis and a
personalized t-shirt.
Giving the rickshaw wallah a much needed break.
The guys were taught how to play cricket by a real
professional cricket player!
Lunch at El Torro
One of the scavenger hunt missions was to find a
local barber and get a shave or a haircut.  Other clues
required the guys to find a singing bowl, kinder joy
treats for the kids, prayer caps, jackfruit, and ahem.....
delay spray.
The reward.
