The "Cute Face"

I took Cadyn to the pool today and I was sitting close enough to the table, where she was eating lunch with her friends, to hear their conversation....because you know, it's fun to listen in on what 4 and 5-year-olds talk about.  Anyway, it went something like this........

Cadyn: "Can I tell you something funny?  You know what I do when I do something bad and get in trouble by my Mommy?"

Friend: "What?"

Cadyn: "First, I make tears in my eyes.  But I don't let them fall down my face.  I keep them in my eyes.  Then.....I make a cute face."

Friend: "Huh?  How do you do the cute face?"

Cadyn: "Like this...." (Cadyn demonstrates the "cute face".  The photo above will give you an idea of what it's supposed to look like......minus the fur and whiskers, of course.)

Friend: (giggle) "Ohhhh."

Cadyn: "Yeah.  And after I make my cute face, Mommy laughs and she isn't upset anymore."

Friend: "Hmmmm......maybe I should try that too."

Cadyn: "Yeah, yeah!  Try it.  Just try it.  I think your Mommy will laugh too."

Let me remind you......SHE'S ONLY FOUR!
