Two months in Dhaka

It's been almost two months since we first landed in Dhaka and so far, we are loving it!  We have all sorts of fruit trees in our yard....mango, papaya, coconut, guava, and pretty soon, bananas (our juicer has been working over time)!  The frogs, geckos and occasionally, baby snakes around the house keep Mason and Cadyn entertained for hours.  Rickshaw rides have become a favorite mode of transportation for the kids.  Robbie is enjoying his 5 minute walk to work - sure beats the 1&1/2 hour bus commute to D.C.  And me?  Well, I'm taking advantage of the one-on-one time with Cadyn until she leaves me for kindergarten next year.  I actually think she appreciates the little routine with have going.  We homeschool for 2 hours in the morning, have a snack, take Jax for a long walk, eat lunch, play, and then have a snack when big brother comes home from school.  I'm actually hoping to find something part-time in the afternoons whether it be a paid or volunteer position.  Hopefully, Cadyn won't be too upset with that idea!

Robbie and I are really impressed with how well the kids have transitioned into their new environment.  They truly are resilient and adaptable beings. The interesting thing is that because they're still pretty young, nothing seems to faze them.   Everything here is just normal.  And they seem genuinely happy which is what's most important to us.  As Robbie and I have said since the start of our Foreign Service journey, "As long as the kids are happy, we're happy."
