Who's the boss?

If you were to ask our kids, "Who's the boss in the family?", they would always tell you Mommy is the boss. In fact, Mason believes that all Moms in the world are bosses and that all little girls will eventually grow up to be bosses too.  I know, I know....I've trained our kids well.  I love it.

However, now we are living in a society that is patriarchal in nature, so the father is the dominant figure in the household.  Therefore, on a daily basis, I'm constantly hearing things like...........

"What would Boss like for dinner tonight?"
        "Is Boss home?"
        "We should ask Boss first."
"Oh, Boss is a very good man."

And my personal favorite...........

"Oh Boss, I like your style.....you are a smooth operator."

Yes, someone actually said that to him at work.  I guess they like the way he handles his job.  Anyhow, I suppose I'll just have to accept that this is the way it's going to be here.  One time I was just trying to be funny and I said to one of the Embassy drivers that in fact, I was the Boss and not Robbie, and I swear I thought he was going to plow through a fleet of rickshaws.  I know not to do that ever again.

Robbie is obviously enjoying every minute of it because he certainly wasn't treated this way back home.  But he knows who the real boss is and will always be, so that's all that matters:)
