Trip to Wisp

We got to spend four fun-filled days at Wisp Ski Resort to not only ski, but to celebrate Robbie's birthday. The timing was perfect since Robbie will start training for his new job with the Foreign Service next week. Plus, it pretty much snowed all day, every day that we were at Wisp. We loved the experience of snowboarding and skiing with giant snowflakes falling on us!

The rental house we stayed in sat right on a beautiful lake with views of the ski resort just a holler away, literally. We could hear people screaming as they skiied down the slopes. The kids absolutely loved the house. It was a great place to retreat to after a long day on the slopes. And with the heated pool and hot tub just a 30 second walk from the front door, none of us could resist even though we were all exhausted by the end of the day.

This was Mason's third season on skis. He has pretty much graduated from blues and can now ski some black diamonds. He enjoys skiing so much that if Mom and Dad didn't say anything, he would ski until they closed the slopes which is 10pm!

Now, this was Cadyn's first time on skis ever. And we have to say, for a 3 year old, she did an excellent job! By the end of the trip, she graduated to the bunny slope which was a huge accomplishment considering she caught a stomach virus on the third day. One of the things we've noticed about her is how much determination she has. Seriously, she never gives up on anything. We think it may have to do with her having an older sibling and wanting to do everything he does.

Our trip to Wisp was planned at the last minute and it was all worth it. Vacations, whether short or long, create an opportunity for us to just focus on family without any distractions. We had such a great time and hope to go back again some day.
