We love Mommy!
Mother's Day weekend was both fun and sad for me. The fun started with waking up to Cadyn smiling and Mason saying, "Happy Mother's Day! I love you!". As gifts I received very sweet cards, a tray that was handpainted by Mason, and a new sleeping bag which I can't wait to use on our next backpacking trip. My old one pretty much takes up half my backpack, so it's nice to have one that's more compressible.

We were all up pretty early, so we were able to get to Eggspectations for breakfast before the lines started. Breakfast was really tasty - the kids would agree too. Afterwards, we went to Centennial Park where Robbie and I got to run and Mason got to play on the playground and glide around the lake in a paddle boat. Later, we went back home so Cadyn could take a nap. But since it was still gorgeous out, we went for a walk along the path as soon as Cadyn woke up. We saw 4 huge deer run from one side of the path to the other - they were probably 20 feet from us. Mason and Cadyn got so excited about seeing the deer.

The sad part of the weekend was Cadyn getting her first haircut. After feeling a lot of pressure from my mom, Sov, and Robbie, I gave in and let Nolaska cut her hair. Nolaska has cut all of our hair, and even did Mason's first haircut. Cadyn looks very cute, of course, but she doesn't look like a little baby anymore which made me sad. No, I didn't cry, but I wanted to. I guess the good thing about getting her hair cut is that she no longer wakes up with dreads so combing her hair is a whole lot easier now.
Mother's Day was a good day. I feel incredibly lucky to have an amazing husband and two adorable, healthy and happy kids. Everyday they make me laugh and remind me to step back and live in the moment because that's all that really matters.
